BACK TO LOCAL MEDIA

“Since I’ve been here, for eight or nine years, I’ve never had any pressure from my publisher.”
  • Editor-in-chief at Le Nouvelliste, translated from French
The separation of publishing and editorial may be more difficult in smaller local media than in large national media houses, which have entire departments for the two business units. Nevertheless, and especially in local media, it is important to separate the financial and organizational affairs of the publisher (including advertising) from the content reporting of the editorial team. This in turn also promotes credibility and can be communicated to media users.
